Guest guest
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone could recommend an Ashtanga Yoga Studio to me in San Diego, CA. I am open to any and all suggestions. I intend to move to San Diego in the upcoming future and would just like to fish around for some helpful feedback from everyone out there.

Thanks!
Carissa

I'd stick with the top two options above. You will likely be extremely happy with them

Guest guest
Tim Miller's studio is excellent and so is Anne Nowell's. I've practiced all over San Diego and those are definately the best in the area.
Guest guest
hey thanks! i'm happy to get feedback! out of curiosity, do you only practice astanga or do you do any other types of hatha yoga in your practice?
i currently practice with an instructor in new york state and take classes in iyengar and astanga with him. so i am hoping to find a place in san diego that can give me some of the same. do you think Anne Nowell's studio will be able to do that?
and ps...how do you like san diego living?

thanks again
Guest guest
Hello-

I have practiced in San Diego for several
years. As Neptunid (I'll be watching for you
in class!) mentioned, Tim Miller in Encinitas
and Anne Nowell in Hillcrest are the two major
choices for Astanga. Many other studios have
Astanga classes now and then, but those
two studios are dedicated to the practice.

Tim Miller's studio has been around many
years, and the people practicing there tend
to be very experienced. His approach is very
traditional as well, so I you want to do a
great Mysore-style or perfectly-lead first series
class, this is the place to go.

Anne Nowell's studio is newer, although she
has been teaching in the area for many years.
The people in her classes are also newer,
and full of excitement. The Mysore-style
classes on Monday and Friday evening
are particularly nice, full of helpful advice
and high energy.

See you in SD!
