Guest guest
You are where you are. Learning to just accept that without judging it is (a large part of) the whole point, isn't it?

But of course, we all like to see outward "progress" and enjoy being able to do new and cool stuff with our bodies ... and that's probably fairly harmless as long as we don't confuse it with the goal of the practice.

There's something in the practice that's hard and slow and frustrating for pretty much everybody. I've gone through a lot of frustration with knee problems and thinking "oh bloody hell, I'm so hopeless, I've practicing for years and I still can't do lotus properly and probably never well". Then suddenly, in the last week or two, huge unprecedented openings and a couple of my physically best practices ever. Which is no better, from the point of view of spiritual learning, than having a run of "bad" practices- but it's fun.

If it wasn't sometimes tough and frustrating we wouldn't be able to learn anything of value from it. Just keep practicing.
