Guest guest
.... to the many who expressed supportive comments here and in email during the recent ugly spate of gay bashing. om namo narayana! nice to see that brand of ignorance fading away through its own flimsiness. om namah sivaya! om aim saraswatyai namah!

just proves that this is in the main a lovely, sattvic board, mirroring the beauty of sri jois's and other gurus' tireless dedication. the physical body's an illusory bag of meat, the subtle body an illusory confluence of energy, the causal body an illusory precipitator. individuals are no more separate from each other than a wave from the ocean. we are one. pure, universal consciousness is the only reality. tat twam asi. Guest guest
ah, the ubiquitous invitation to act as pro bono librarian to bigots. please. the disingenuousness of your latest message is appalling, but not unexpected. from your gratuitously stereotyping opening comment that gay men see everything "through the prism of gay sex," to the pejorative slinging of "queers, queens," and the various forms of gay-baiting accompanying them have been obvious to all at the club, and many have commented intelligently, with endless restraint born of a genuinely sattvic life. yoga is the treasure of treasures. hackneyed right-wing rhetorical tricks pose all the threat of a caged mouse.

no yoga sadhana accommodates this sort of behavior, which one would expect to encounter among fundamentalist christian zealots, not students of vedic philosophy. yoga philosophy is not evangelical christianity. brahmacharya is a scientific practice to utilise on one's own, not a commandment by which to judge others. at most the jesus of the bible echoes teachings on ahimsa of the buddha. he interpreted vedic teaching and introduced a kind of reform hinduism to the society of his time, which was dominated by a corrupt aristocracy hypocritically citing religion to hold onto power, scriptural justifying persecution of whole classes of innocent people. sound familiar?

as previously stated, the christian coalition is as much threatened by the proliferation in the west of yoga and vedic thought as the proliferation of gay rights. any who have had the pleasure of observing the same tactics used to attack both have noticed that familiar odor.
