Guest guest
Since there are no ashtanga teachers in my area, I use David Swenson's video and book of the primary series. I only have the endurance to go through the sun salutations and the standing sequence (about 30 min.). Is this a good way to practice or should I try to mix asanas from different parts of the series? What did you do when you were a beginner?
Guest guest
I talked to David recently during his Munich workshop. Her recommended (as "minimum daily requirement") the sun salutations (five As and five Bs) plus the three finishing sitting asanas (for ten breaths each). Additionally, it is sensible to relax for 25 breaths. Totally, this takes about 20 minutes.

The sequence has an inner logic (derived from experience rather than theory).

I tried to mix asanas myself while I was traveling. Guest guest
I started Ashtanga Yoga without a teacher as well. I started at the beginning of the primary series, learning each poses in order and doing the closing poses at the end.

Jack
