Guest guest
Hi,

Thanks for all the responses. I have a new question. As a Christian if someone was looking for a place to start reading the scriptures I would know where to tell him or her to start. If they were looking for a spiritual direction read Romans, or someone who has minimum Christian back round might start in the gospel of John. So my question would be where do I start.

Lewis

Guest guest
If you are asking about where to start in the yoga/vedanta field, I suggest:

1. The Raja Yoga Sutras by Patanjali. This is an excellent and complete philosophy of consciousness

2. The Principal Upanishads. At first, read them as you would the Psalms, as devotional poetry.Let them open your heart and mind.

Then you can read commentaries on them. There are many inspiring commentaries by knowledgeable people on both of these suggestions.
