Guest guest
Is NOT only found in dairy products although dairy is loaded with it. B-12 is a bacterial secretion and is secreted by our own bacteria in amounts sufficient to meet minimum requirements which are .5 micrograms per day. It is also a matter of apsorption into the body and people on vegan diets had greater ability to absorb B-12 and therefore need less.

Sea vegetables like dulse, alaria, kelp, laver contain human-utilizable B-12. Also, Klamath lake algae has loads of it.

B-12 is highly mutable and usually does not reach the metabolism when taken in a multi-supplement.

B-12 is also found in root vegetables because of the contact with B-12 producing bacteria in the soil.

B-12 is not found "IN" food, but "ON" it.

It was observed by Dr. Gabriel Cousens, author of "Conscious Eating", that the minds of certain patients with psychosis and borderline mental states (suffering from delusions and unstable identities) became normal after a B-12 shot and were able to receive these shots regularly. Perhaps you should give it a whirl? Or you could just eat some dirt.

FBL

Guest guest
Some recent research has shown that the kind of B12 in sea veggies and spirulina isn't "real" B12, but an analogue of the vitamin. Here's a good article on the subject by Vegan Outreach:

http://www.veganoutreach.org/health/b12.html
