Guest guest
Georgia, I have read the Sutras and I am a practicing Ashtanga instructor. The reply was geared towards those hateful individuals who continue to leave insulting replies to fellow yogis in this club. It's difficult for me to tolerate these people who obviously have no yoga practice and do not belong in this club. These are the very people who abuse their power to engage in activities such as shutting down Yoga classes because they believe Yoga is devil worship. (See the internet for that article)
I will admit that I most definately need to encorporate more compassion in my life. I agree with you completely.
I do, however, find it extremely discouraging when I join a club seeking to educate myself more about the Yoga community and it's obvious wealth of knowledge and I find such sad behavior on a daily basis.
In regards to the offensive comments, my intentions to offend were solely directed to the people who do not belong in this club. Not to any fellow yogis.
I attempt to lead a lifestyle of good health and nutrition. Which generally incorporates eating fresh, wholesome foods and not smoking. Non yogis "stereotypically" (not all of course) do not. My intentions were merely to bring light to these individuals of their lack of awareness by giving them "a taste of their own medicine."
Enough of this, let us please use this club solely what it was designed for.
Namaste
Guest guest
Not sure if your original message was meant for me. If so, my apologies for offending your sense of correctness. Like georgia, I too have found the logic of your posts a little dificult to follow:
"It's difficult for me to tolerate these people who obviously have no yoga practice and do not belong in this club."
If I understand this, if one posts an insulting message, like yours for example, they have no yoga practice. Who decides who belongs here? My impression is that this is a public online forum open to anyone who follows 's guidelines.
" my intentions to offend were solely
directed to the people who do not belong in this club"
...my intentions to offend... Hmmm, as a practicing yoga instructor, do you teach your students such approaches?
"My intentions were merely to
bring light to these individuals of their lack of awareness by giving them
"a taste of their own medicine."
Well, you certainly have a high opinion of your own sense of awareness nd your own yoga practice and a low opinion of anyone who you disagree with. Maybe that's the criteria for being a yogi, that you find them agreeable. There's lots of yogis who eat meat, who drink alcohol, who aren't practicing teachers and who are disagreeable from time to time. The fact that someone is seeking to progress on the yogic pathway does not mean that they have to be buddha.
Yogi, heal thyself, then worry about those you disagree with
