I knew Duncan Wong's name was familiar from

somewhere. I've never met him. He is the guy doing urdhva

kukutasana on the cover of the Feb 95 Yoga Journal. Which

does rather suggest that he's been practicing advanced

ashtanga since long before anybody here had ever heard of

El Senor Pinche Wey.<br><br>This was the issue that

had a big, and in my opinion fairly good, feature on

ashtanga yoga. Judge for yourself - the text is

ml</a><br><br>I speculate that David Swenson - who I think we all

know is well capable of doing deep forward bends -

might show them as he does in his book either so that

the asanas don't look too terrifying and unattainable

for the relative newcomers who are likely to read it,

or to encourage readers to keep their backs straight

and not do the common beginner's thing of hunching

the back over in order to get the head somewhere near

the knees. Not that I care - if it upsets you so

much, Senor, why didn't you ask him when you met him in

New York?
