Guest guest
Good info page on Mysore at http://www.practiceashtanga.com . Just click on the section "Mysore" listed above the home page.

In the section "Bandas" I found a review by Tracy Rose on a three-days workshop Astanga master Richard Freeman held at the Kripalu Institute in Lenox, Massachusetts on April 19-22. Quite funny to read.

Equally good & interesting, a review by Deborah Crooks in the "Workshop" section on Dena Kingsberg visiting Berkeley. (Didn't know she injured her back. Apparently, injuries do happen among the most experienced astangis too.)

Guest guest
HI - Yes, I really (really) would like to know what "vegetarian macrobiotic ayurvedic meals" look like. It does sound a bit frightening. Or maybe it's astanga babble for "vegan food"?
Guest guest
"vegetarian macrobiotic" does not sound very healthy. be careful out there.
Guest guest
I guess the Macro diet still suffers from a bad rep it earned from the practices of some fanatics of the 60s, who were eating very strictly -- and worse, making their small kids eat strictly as well -- but the diet is generally much broader and saner now.

I lived in a macro study house a long time ago. It's very challenging to eat sans all dairy, sugar and flour products, but I have to say I never felt so healthy.
Guest guest
I like when a teacher is "serious and ethereal," in SUBSTANCE. Hate when they put on that stupid yoga voice.

Personally find Freeman and Swenson not too easy on the eyes, though their books are good enough.
