Guest guest
All,
A woman who is about 50-ish asked me to recommend a yoga video for her to use at home. I sent her to a local yoga studio to their very beginner classes - she has never really been athletic or done any yoga. She is not really overweight and she has no injuries. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
FBL
Guest guest
Trinka,
I know you've expressed some reservations about the other board but this topic came up there a while back. Here's a link to the discussion on recommendations for videos for older beginners.

http://pub42.ezboard.com/fyoga84291frm4.showMessage?topicID=40.topic<\ /a>
Guest guest
Thanks boredcthis -
Any other suggestions? They talk about the Lilias Folan video but this woman is not geriatric. 50 is not so old really, but she has never done yoga which means maybe she has an 'old' body.

Those articles were good skull, but go figure the BBB/TB article was revolting as usual. She claims to have been 'studying and teaching' ashtanga yoga for 25 years. With whom does she study? When I asked her, she couldn't give me a straight answer. I asked, "So who is your ashtanga teacher?" I got a long story about how she has been to India before, etc. Read the article. She tells a story about how Thom is 'afraid of strangers'. It makes him sound like a mental patient. When you read the little article, keep in mind that this is a grown man she is talking about. Guest guest
re: lilias silver series, even though the postures are good for her audience, she suffers from an extreme case of "fake yoga voice". i don't advise getting these for someone with low tolerance for self-indulgence masquerading as spirituality (unless you want to give them a hearty laugh).

yomamasana
