Guest guest
Yikes! This teacher you found is dealing with some demons, definitely. She's very clever, knowing which buttons to push like that...but she's not too smart. Someone was bound to figure her out and believe it or not, you have her running scared. I'd get out of that class, though.
Jay
Guest guest
Sticking my nose in where it hasn't been invited again, but...

If this teacher demonstrates such egregious behavior, especially the part about transferring the blame to you, why would you not want to advise your fellow ashtangis here who she is? I would have qualms about ever taking a class from anyone named Judi now. Maybe not fair to all the other Judi's out there. Having identified someone with a problem, is there a responsibility to ensure that others are informed as well?

Guest guest
Okay, one more thing. I just HAD to go visit the website and thought you all might find this amusing.

Under the heading "about the studio" I found this quote:

"Judi's teaching style includes 4 basic elements: Flexibility, Compassion, Generosity and Kindness. She does not see a separation in what she does from who she is."

Well then, in light of what happened that is, indeed, frightening.

sorry for the double post.

Lilly
Guest guest
Hey Jess, thanks for the fill in. I know everyone has to make a living. I guess this is an example where someone put too high a priority on earning money and not a high enough priority on their honor and integrity.

Reminds me of the old tale in which a scoundrel and rake type of guy was at some high brow party full of nobles and semi-royalty. Unimpressed with the high airs of the folks there, he got to talking with one of the women, a middle aged duchess or some such thing. "If I offered you a million pounds, would you make love with me?" he asked her in his sincerest, most desirous voice. "Oh my, a million pounds! Why of course, you silly romantic boy" she simpered. "Well, what if I offered you a quid, would you let me f--- you?", he then asked. Aghast, she shrieked, "What do you take me for, a common whore?!?" He smiled and said, "My dear duchess, we've already established your profession, now we're just haggling on the price."

Judi, how much was your honor worth? Guest guest
You shouldn't have let her abuse her power and try to intimidate you (which she did successfully).

Sounds like she used that typical yogi passive aggressive shitt on you. Just 'cause you are a chick doesn't mean you have to be weak. Stand up to your foes next time. You were in the right and El Senor Pinche Wey backs you up 100%.

El Senor, Ole! Guest guest
senor

some aspects of the story are clearly wrong like plagerizing. But may i add you're a gullible idiot for not speaking out on your clearly held not-so personal-beliefs......she is 23, by her own admission is not an ashtanga expert and plans to teach. ???? Let me hand you a hanky. (She is clearly heading to follow in her not-so-respectable teacher's footsteps according to some. Like thAt teacher did according to some others.) Guest guest
a final word on this

if this teacher turned this thing on you the way you said (her implying you need therapy), i am really sorry to hear that - that is a manipulative and nasty ploy.

Please take heart that not all teachers are like this. (I suspect she may be going through a painful growth phase after this experience, and like most of us struggle ahead to become better.)I don't know why but something about the story also tickles me because clearly you rode her high in front of everyone in class in what sounds like absolute brat fashion. That's what is making me laugh. I am not saying it is right or wrong - i just can see this picture and it is what movies are made of, you being thrown out the door to boot.
And telling everyone.

You got the last word baby.

Somehow i do not think you need pity - you are definitely not the victim type. I think this teacher met her match. That is a lot said for a 23yr old. I am still struggling to find the words to tell a teacher who injured me for a month after he twisted my knee with his bare hands in the attempt to help. as a demonstration.

I suspect not many have the guts to pick a fight with you.
