Guest guest Posted July 5, 2001 Report Share Posted July 5, 2001 FBL,

I was just reading some of the messages recently posted on Ezboard. This Rosebud...why is it that she reminds me so strongly of you? Ms Rosebud tries to convert Bandawoman (as well as everyone else on Ezboard) to her own purist ideals, Funkybadlady tries to do the same here with Jess Abelson. Coincidence? Why not let people be as they are and let them find their own way in (Astanga) Yoga? This is not to criticise you, but it's odd nonetheless. Anyway, this is my last post here for now. Will be back next week. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted July 5, 2001 Report Share Posted July 5, 2001 You are right. FBL a purist. And FBL wants everyone to do as FBL wishes. Because my way is better than your way. I am also make believe. True, Rosebud also seems to enjoy pointing out the obvious. Such as... how much better your english has become so very quickly! Such as why you have such an apparently indepth knowledge of not only ashtanga, but the comings and goings of various yogi's to and from Mysore, Hindu scripture principals and mythology, asana pointers, teacher reputations, book recommendations (all fairly astute and representative of rather in-depth learning on your part)... And all from a conveniently undisclosed place in Germany far, far away from any yoga shala where someone might be able to verify your existence. And you started doing ashtanga when? Four months ago? Don't even start with me!
FBL Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted July 5, 2001 Report Share Posted July 5, 2001 I have been doing Astanga Yoga for one year now. Anyway, I would like to tell you that I found your replies to Bobbithang and Jess Abelson to be offensive, to say the least. I also found Rosebud's posts on Ezboard not only to be offensive, but arrogant as well as self-righteous. Who the heck does that chick think she is? I am happy that I don't post there. I also hope that Rosebud is not you. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted July 5, 2001 Report Share Posted July 5, 2001 FBL:
once again, you're keeping the board interesting! your posts provide my eyes, which dull over the screen in most cases, with some humor and things to think about! don't stop posting in your usual ways, because then i'ld fall asleep at my computer and miss my yoga classes!

)

lauren Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted July 6, 2001 Report Share Posted July 6, 2001 FBL, you may be a ashtanga genius, but your interpersonal skills seem to leave something to be desired.

1. my STUDIO may say "based on ashtanga" but we practice full primary series...mysore style and led.
2. "Miss JEss" as you put it, may be somewhat new (ten months?) to ashtanga, but she/I have seven years beforehand dealing with working out/studying physiology based on such. Not the same at all, I know. BUT it would make sense that phsyiologically both abdominal and lower back strength need to be developed---these muscles support each other.
3. I may not be an ashtanga genius such as yourself, my little prodigy. BUT i know something about respecting other human beings, and the fact that even though they may not be prodigious in the ways i am, even "peons" and "novices" may have something of value to say.

you also have NO IDEA as to my practice habits or command of sanskrit. Furthermore, well respected yogiis, (yes, outside of ashtanga) (ie Ana Forrest) frequently use English.

I didn't realize one had to be a gurujii devotee to be allowed your privilege to post and offer input on this board. If thats what the ashtanga community is about, I want no part of it. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
