Hello everyone,
I have been lurking here for

some time now, and just decided to post!
My

question is, in the vinyasa and sun salutations, when

going from the puward dog to the downward dog, how do

you change the position of your feet?

Do you

put your knees on the floor? or do you "jump" the

feet into the other position?

This may sound

like a silly question, bu tit's bugging

me!

Thanks

i have a question about rolling over your toes...

I can do one foot at a time, but I can't seem to do

both feet at once. Is there a trick to that or do you

just have to make your toes stronger?

lauren

try going slower in the transition from UMSv to

AMSv, slowly rolling over the toes while using the

contraction of mulabhanda as your bring your hips up and

back.

superfast vinyasa, IMO, isn't a good idea.

Thanks for the help... I haven't been trying to

do it quickly... it just feels as if my ankles are

going to roll over when I do it like you say, maybe I

just need more practice!

El Senor - I am by NO

MEANS a ballet expert!!! I just enjoy doing it, but

sadly am no longer taking classes. I will try to answer

any questions you have- feel free to post them here!

Angell,
Yes, don't touch your knees to the

ground and do roll over your toes. It might feel strange

at first, but keep your entire legs (and ankles) in

line. Your feet and toes probably do need to open up a

bit in order for this to work. The key thing, though,

is to get the LIFT from the bandas. That is where

the movement back comes from. Lifting from there,

together with good strength throughout your body, will

take pressure and weight off of your toes as you roll

over them. Then, your toes and your ankles will be

fine.
