Guest guest
if there was any doubt in anybody's mind about the criminality of dwarfish tatooed yogi, Duncan "the huffer and puffer" Wong, this link should dispell that.

http://www.yogachicago.com/jul01/workshopreviews.shtml#duncan
\
Duncan is combining martial arts breathing and ashtanga? Anybody who has had the displeasure to practice in the same room as Wong knows him to be an agitated and psychotic individual who rushes through practice with jerky motions and erratic and disturbing breath. That he teaches workshops and dupes people with his tomfoolery is truly pathetic.

Beware Duncan Wong, yoga criminal.

El Senor Pinche Wey, Ole! Guest guest
Sounds like someone's jealous. What's the matter senor, no one wants to come to your workshops?
Guest guest
Obviously these people are not purists and it is interesting to ask why certain ashtangis need to change the formula...I will say that if I'd started out doing Mysore Ashtanga I may not have stuck with it. As a Westerner, I think I needed to be guided through classes -- maybe b/c my own inner guide was not well developed at the time. I do hope that Ashtanga does not stray too far from its roots. And I am troubled by studios that teach karma, ashtanga, hatha, iyengar, bikram, any style yoga. With no single focus, I find that they don't teach one REALLY well. This is definitely a pet peeve of mine. It is also part of the western mind set to get easily bored. When you're bored change your partner, city, job, furnishings, all of it. Maybe we DO need to work on this -- learn to stick to one thing and REALLY stick to it and continue to see it in a new and fresh way. Boredom is just another state of mind we need to learn to work through.
