Guest guest
8,400,000 of course. The Lord Shiva said so - weren't you paying attention? Although it's sometimes mis-quoted as 84,000 so it would be understandable if you mistakenly thought that was the answer.

"There are eighty-four hundreds of thousands of Asanas described by Shiva. The postures are as many in number as there are numbers of species of living creatures in this universe. Among them eighty-four are the best; and among these eighty-four, thirty-two have been found useful for mankind in this world"
(Gheranda-Samhita 2.1-2)

Or did you mean in the ashtanga vinyasa yoga system as taught by Sri K. Patthabi Jois? Couple of hundred then, probably. Don't worry, I have no doubt that the thirty-two that are useful in this world make up the bulk of the primary series. Guest guest
.... and there are 200 in Light On Yoga, but we don't talk about that here and besides, our 200 are better than their 200 (apart from being mostly identical)
