Has anyone of you experience on enlargened

vertebrae?

Two vertebrae in my neck (or upper back) are so big

they are clearly visible even when standing straight.

They look like one big bump just below my

neck.

I was told not to worry about them and that I could

keep on doing yoga (I use extra mats in shoulder

stands). But the hugeness of them still does worry me a

bit. I mean the way they stand out from my back, it

just doesn't look "normal".

Any advice?

Most likely those vertebrae are not enlarged but

are just misalligned in such a way as to be

protruding out a bit. Most people have some degree of

misallignment in their spines. One effect of long-term yoga

practice is to straighten out the spine. You may want to

see a chiropractor. They vary a lot but there may be

someone who could pop things back into place in a few

sessions. More likely, it isn't something that will be

changed quickly. You may want to try to find a

chiropractor or other doctor who will take a full spinal xray,

they're not too expensive. Then you can have a look for

yourself and see just what is going on. Some massage

therapy may be helpful. A Rolfer or Hellerworker would be

my first choice to really do some work on it. Check
