The diagnosis is done through examining the tongue and is very accurate physically and psychologicallly. The practitioner that I went to said my constitutional type was 50% pita, 30% vata and 20% kapha. This same result came up when I did the self test mentioned above.

There aren't any ayurveda practitioners in Ottawa but there is one in Montreal. Guest guest
Thanks for your reply Omprem. I'm sure I could find a practioner in Toronto,... but I will try that (Ayurvedic Cookbook) test you mentioned. Incidentally, I had recently contracted a gum infection, so I tried an Ayurvedic toothpaste. Just amazing, (contains a herb called Neem) so along with a natural bristle toothbrush, grape seed oil and a water pick, I cured it. What with health considerations and the desire to remain healthy in old age, I think dental health should be one of the most important considerations, although to be honest with you, all things dental make me feel nauseous. Remember Dustin Hoffman in Marathon Man and his crazy dentist and his drill? I'll bet that man never went to a reputable Dentist College. Guest guest
THERE is also ABSOLUTE BEAUTY which deals mostly with skin care. I highly recommend it. I too would love to go to Ayurvedic practitioner and have my dosha read. I have so much kaph/pitta that I can't tell which dominates.
