Guest guest
Did you know...Indian students study with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Sharath and Saraswati daily for a fee which is very affordable and in keeping with their economy? No, obviously you didn't. The fees for students living in so called "First World" countries are higher and so they should be! As lil' missy has said before, we all save our money towards our goals. Flip through Yoga Journal (ugh), it seems thousands are happy to spend their dosh on $2000 yoga retreats in Costa Rica and Mauai. Or to take 2 week meaningless "teacher trainings" for an equal cost when they are barely a student and hardly ready to teach. Others drive new "gross polluting" 4 wheel drives, spend hundereds on pharmaceuticals, fashion, digital tv and dvds. Budgeting towards goals is good old fashioned sense. Some of us save for the worthwhile, life changing opportunity to learn at a Master's feet(aren't we the clever ones!).
Crim Vishva's yoga class doesn't warrant a 15 rupee class fee, let alone a $15! He has barely a smattering of yoga education, and is teaching only to profit off a tenous connection to his highly educated family relation. Missy agrees that all Bharat educated, life long students of sanskrit, shastra and guru, deserve to earn the students, income and respect accorded to them, be they Dravidian, Marathi or Rajastani, Shavite, Vaisnav or Devi worshippers.
Meanwhile there's an ever growing legion of con artists in India (and elsewhere) posing as yoga teachers in order to filch eager, unsuspecting foreigners of their hard earned dough. On this board, they call those folks - yoga criminals.
m.p.

ps. A book on 15 minute yoga! What books and videos will be next? 3 Minute yoga? 6 Second Yoga? Yoga While on the Phone, on the Freeway, in the 4 Wheel Drive? oops...better not toss off to many good money making ideas here.
