Far be it from me, a lurker on this board, to

stand up for FBL - I'm quite certain she can do that

for herself - but was the tone of your post

necessary, Barbie? And if you did feel the need to voice how

you feel, which is your right, why on this board? The

last I checked, you can send an e-mail to another club

member through their profile and keep YOUR hostility

between the two of you. I personally don't appreciate

such a hateful attack on any member of this group,

however justified you feel it might be. If her posts

bother you that much - DON'T READ THEM.

I don't

mean to sound like I'm telling you how to behave, but

I'm just tired of coming here looking for guidance

with my practice and shared experiences and having to

wade through hundreds of posts full of infighting and

vitriol. I never expected us to hold hands and sing

Kum-ba-yah, but people are supposed to act better than that.

Especially people supposedly enlightened through a daily

yoga practice.

acting according to what is taught them and what is

tolerated on this board. Hostility has been in residence

here long before barbie_yoga logged on. We have people

flamming and insulting each other's practice, teacher,

spiritual zeal and what not. The name of this club is a

misnomer. This club should be renamed Ashtanga Yoga For The

Mysore Click. Leave your sticky mat at home but please

bring your ego along with your venom.

To amend my previous message:

I apologize

if it seems like I'm singling you out, Barbie. My

comments are directed to all of the monster shouters in

this group who seem to feel that it's acceptable to

belittle others because they don't agree with what they

say or how they say it.

There is such a thing

as an educated conversation and room for a

difference of opinion in an educated conversation. I've

never understood why discussions here have to

degenerate into personal attacks. I have read many posts

here that make me angry, but FBL's (or anyone's)

"nasty" posts don't change my feelings for ashtanga. It's

her opinion. I don't have to agree with it or let it

change my practice.

My teacher is not certified

by Guruji, and that seems to be viewed here as one

step towards heathenism. But you know what? I enjoy my

practice and hope to grow and learn with every day I am

able to get on my mat. One day I would like to get to

Mysore, but if I don't, it doesn't make my yoga practice

any less valuable.

The negativity here is only

encouraged by posts like yours and others who have responded

to them in the same way. I respect how you feel and

have felt the same a lot of the time after reading

some of the posts. I just think it would have been

better suited if you had directed it to FBL

personally.

I'm done.

barbie you are too right. The baglady is quite

rabid but it's not the guru who taught her since she

does not study with him except in groups of

hundreds.
I have heard that it will indeed be the the rabid

bag lady herself who shall be the new authority for

teacher certification based on her considerable

experience and blissful temperment.

Your joking right? Who would want to be taught by

a certified self-deluded, femme-nazi like the Bag

Lady? How someone with a personality like that ever get

certification puzzles me. She is really a negative person and

she sours this board with her hideous aura. This

Senor Pinch Butt is no better either, his ad hominem

attacks lead me to believe that Bag Lady and El Senor are

one person, are they? This whole Mysore click sickens

me, actually. Please tell me that not all of guruji's

students act this way.

Bob

Bob,
Don't worry. There are some wonderful,

humble, kind-hearted people who are students of Gurujii.

Some students have such a need to 'be someone' that

their egos get in the way of their hearts.
Over

time, Ashtanga teaches you that we are all the same -

maybe our poses differ - maybe I can't grab my ankles

in backbend - but this is only the external

observation.
As with everything....searching for the good company

means you run into the bad company too.
Keep your

heart open and trusting.
twochant

Yes, Of course I'm joking! She is not a even a

student of of the Guru. She does not go to Mysore, nor is

she certified except as a mental case.
Just a

deluded wannabe, who thinks that because she went to a

workshop with about two hundred other people last summer,

she can represent the practice. I do believe she

claims to teach something, but what it is l would not

care to speculate.
She represents only herself.
