Should it be that anyone's mill is in need of

grist, here's something a bit controversial, outside the

bounds of personalities in this club, and pertinent to

the study of astanga

argument is made that patanjali's yoga sutras

have very little -- or nothing -- to do with the

practice of astanga yoga.

Goenka is a somewhat controversial character,

even in the Buddhist community. I thought his address

to the yoga school was worthwhile reading, as it

asks us to critically (rather than reverently) examine

the scriptures of yoga and Buddhism.<br><br>I can't

really say that his opinion is "un-Buddhist." I think he

makes some compelling points, though I don't agree with

all his opinions.
