Guest guest
Just got a new book that should be of great interest to many here. It is called Yoga for the Three Stages of Life: Developing Your Practice as an Art Form, a Physical Therapy, and a Guiding Philosophy - by Srivatsa Ramaswami. The author was a student of Krishnamacharya for 33 years. His approach is much closer to Desikachar's Viniyoga (yoga must be adapted to the individual) than to Iyengar or Ashtanga, but I would think most Ashtanga students would get a lot out of it. It is LOADED with info and is not meant as a guide for beginners. There are some interesting reviews of the book at Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0892818204/

Also just got the new Yoga Journal. Different things will be of interest to different people at different times, but they are packing so much into YJ these days that there's always something worthwhile. A few things of immediate interest to me: a major article on the sacroiliac joint, an interview with Geeta Iyengar, Anatomy of a Yogi column - stretching lats and pecs to free tight shoulders, and Asana column on Parivrtta Trikonasana.

Thank God It's Friday!
