When I first started this thread, I had no idea I

would get replies from so many of you learned yogis on

this panel. For the most part, I think pot is

definitely detrimental to my practice. I cannot

simultaneously smoke pot & lead a so called "spiritual" life &

expect to get the fruits of a good, honest yoga

practice. My practice means so much more to me than getting

high a few hours a week. I've been told pot is a

lesser evil but it is nontheless a mind-altering

substance regardless if a devoted sadhu or guru smokes it

regularly for enlightment or not. I know for myself, I

can't go on like this. In certain asanas in fact, I've

gotten that "high" feeling sans the mary jane. I guess

I'll have to find a new way to get stoned on my free

time. What to do...

namaste,
bhagavati

If it's any consolation, I (and many others) have

already been through what you're going through. The hard

road is acrually continuing the way you're going. Once

you make the decision to stop you'll feel better

about everything, believe me. The rest is just teenage

wasteland.
