Third Day - Under the Spotlight

Today was the day that press and media were

allowed to roam freely amongst the people taking pictures

and filming everything. There were several camera

crews in the stands and also down on the arena floor.

At first it was quite hard to concentrate and get

into the practise because of the very bright

spotlights and people buzzing around and about whirring

their cameras inches from your sweaty face. :) But

eventually I forgot about all that external hubbub and got

really into the practise. Not just observing how my

tired body twists into asanas. In the end it was so

meditative that I almost got startled a couple of times when

coming up from catvari and there's a pitch-black eye of

the camera staring back at me.

I also managed

to accidentally drop-kick one careless cameraman,

who had wandered too close to my mat. I did the

jump-back and kicked him somewhere in the back. Luckily

neither of us got hurt.

There is at least one

document about Guruji to be made from the material shot

today and perhaps some tv-news will have feature about

this. Today a free daily newspaper Metro

http://www.clubmetro.com/

published a two page spread about the workshop

and Astanga Yoga in general. It was very well written

with very good photos. I will try to get some scans

and put them up somewhere.

I got my first

Guruji assist today in Marichyasana D when he stepped on

my knee and just touched my wrist to help me bind.

Wonderful, now I can die a happy man. ;)

Both groups

got also a fair share of Uth Pluthi torture today.

With first group Guruji smiled and uttered "Nine"

three times before a rather lenghty break and "Ten" to

everyones relief I believe. Us at the second group were

lulled into safety when he went fairly quickly up to

five... only to start again from "Two". ...how can we

lift while out abs are burning? quoth the Midninght

Oil, almost. :)

Hamaka33, you are very welcome.

I hope you'll enjoy the Yoga. There are also other

people in your age group having beautiful practises, so

don't worry. All is coming.

More discussion

about the

workshop:
<a href=http://pub42.ezboard.com/fyoga84291frm4

I guess the cameraman you accidentally kicked in

the back during the jump-back just got what he

deserved. Personally it would bug me if someone stood

BEHIND! my mat taking pictures while I practise. It

served him right: film what you like, but PLEASE KEEP

YOUR DISTANCE!
