Guest guest
Mmmm, my mat smells good.
http://personal.inet.fi/private/sold/cyn.jpg

I borrowed a digital camera for the rest of the week so, once I get the chance to edit the photos you'll be seeing plenty of shots of both practise groups. The camera can also record short quicktime movies and I got few nice pieces of film. Especially those 77 seconds of Uth Pluthi are fun to watch, knowing that the count went on forever after the filming had stopped. Cruel.

I don't think I will be putting those .mov files up anywhere, because they are very large: From 2mb to 20mb. If some enthusiast really wants to see them, though, just ask and we'll sort it out.

Practise wise the day was like yesterday, sans the journalists of course. Muscles are starting to notice the punishment by aching a bit more every day, but the flexibility is getting better and I think I can feel some deep tension releasing. Not all of it tough, since todays funny asana was Prasarita Padottasana A: The moment I put my forhead on the mat both my soles lost their grip on the rug and my legs sprung up like a jack-in-a-box. So, there I was in a headstand with legs apart and parallel to the floor. What an experience; good for laughs at least. Too bad no-one got a picture of that.

NOTICE! Anyone from the course reading this: Remember that on Friday both groups start at the same time on 7:30 with advanced people on the front and group two in the back of the arena. Everyone can do the primary series as far as they like or are able to.
Guest guest
how did guruji adjust stiff students? was he vicious or gentle?
Guest guest
"advanced people on the front and group two in the back of the arena."
- Why that? Better student, better place? Short distance to the guru only for the best? (forget the rest) Lu
Guest guest
Thanks for reminding about the change in Fridays schedule, it was not annouced loud enough. As a beginner in ashtanga-yoga I´m not very happy about it :=( and hope that it won´t be too frustrated to pay for exercise you can´t do.
I´d like to see your pictures later, when this busy week is over. Guest guest
Heh, no Lu darling you got it all wrong.

It's not about grading the students or about that someone is more valuable and gets to be upfront. Heck, even Lino Miele has been practising right in the middle of the Arena almost every day.

It is just about practicality; if everyone does the whole primary series together, then who are most likely do drop out of the play earlier on? Right, the beginners, so to avoid shuffling with the mats, disturbing other people's concentration, and to make assisting easier for Guruji, Saraswati, and Sharath it was organized this way.

Yoga is about union, not discrimination :-)
