Guest guest
What a beginner, and I think also advanced pratitioners of ashtanga ( or any joga) should do is to listen to his/her body. Its often wiser than ego. Pain is a signal: you are going too far, don´t overdo it! I´ve done Hatha-yoga some 20 years ago, then forgot it and now when I´m 60, I started Ashtanga. Gradually it´s getting easier, still my hips and knees are stiff, but I listen to the pain, too much of it may hurt my body. I attended Guruji´s sessions twice and just skipped over or modified those asanas I couldn´t do. But still, it was an encouraging experience, I didn´t feel myself a failurer. I think I have stamina (sisu), but I´m not reckless. I do my practice and wait: all is coming, I hope.
