Guest guest
I am rather new to this group as well as to Ashtanga, but its not difficult to step back & look at some of these messages & replies to see tunnel vision, labeling addicts, & pure ego bashing.<br><br>"green with envy"? "somewhat nervous"? I'm sorry but I honeslty started laughing when I read that paragraph & asked myself the question of why is this person really practicing Ashtanga/yoga? But once I read more into the replies on the subject I fortunately came to see that some people in this club are really practicing yoga/ashtanga for peaceful reasons(I'm sure there is a better way to put it but hopefully you get the message).<br><br>I'm not one to be good with words but I think my point can best be made by suggesting you read message 9861 as well as some replies to it.<br><br>I hope that the people in this club can help me with my questions of Ashtanga (which thankfully some already have). I'm not here to bash or be bashed.<br><br>Peace
Guest guest
Some of what you call "bashing" is healthy satire and information sharing about teachers who are overly confident despite their lack of technique or training. It is empowering to my practice to know that I need to be responsible for my practice. This means knowing that some "advertised" ashtanga teachers who are overly confident in their teaching may not be well trained or qualified and I can decide whether or not to practice with them or be adjusted by them. This is a more realistic and HEALTHY mind set for a newbie who may have otherwise just thought they were the teacher and I am the newbie.
