Guest guest
The only place i know of is the Vanderbilt YMCA. It's on 47th Street between 2nd and 3rd. You can take a subway or bus directly down to the Puck building.
Guest guest
I just came from the first week of Sri Pattabhi Jois' teaching so I hope my advice can help you. Logistically, travelling around on the NY Subway takes a lot longer than expected, especially in the early morning hours. I was getting up around 4:30 to get to the 6:00 classes on time, and I wasn't staying that far away. I started out trying to go the cheap route, staying in dormitory style housing. Suffice to say, no one else in that kind of a setting will have your same schedule, so be prepared for people rolling in around 2:00 am intoxicated. After two nights, I moved to a hotel.
Try priceline.com and spring for a little more in exchange for some peace and quiet. I have used it before and gotten suprisingly good rooms at a very low price. You can probably get something decent for $100/night or less. Guest guest
The Chelsa Youth Hostel is a good spot. Just remember that you'll need your U.S. or other passport to stay there.
See you in New York!

Dean
