Guest guest
My heart goes out to you. I can barely imagine what a deeply shocking experience this must be - I only hope none of you have been physically hurt.

Guest guest
I would like to give my sympathies also. I am so horrified and saddened by everything I've seen. My prayers and heart go to all affected.

Guest guest
I only hope America will be able to track down and pinpoint those responsible for this inhuman act of barbarism. Just try to imagine two hijacked Boeings purposefully crashing into the city centre of Hamburg say, or Munich. Yesterday in New York City, this nightmare became reality!!

I am basically against the death penalty, but in the case of those who organised this slaughter of innocents, I say: KILL them! These mass murderers have no right to live among us - they have no right to live at all.
Guest guest
Incredibly I managed to practice yesterday evening. I didn't sleep much, though (did anyone?) so I eventually fell to reading. I came across one of my favorite stories of the Desert Fathers -- these early Christian monks in 4th century Egypt -- that seems pertinent:

One of the brethren had been insulted by another and he wanted to take revenge. He came to Abba Sisois and told him what had taken place, saying: I am going to get even, Father. But the elder besought him to leave the affair in the hands of God. No, said the brother, I will not give up until I have made that fellow pay for what he said. Then Abba Sisois stood up and began to pray in these terms: O God, Thou art no longer necessary to us, and we no longer need Thee to take care of us since, as this brother says, we both can and will avenge ourselves. At this the brother promised to give up his idea of revenge.

From "Wisdom of the Desert", edited by Thomas Merton.

I hope everyone especially is OK.

Peace and Good,
Homer
Guest guest
I am yet another bad man who prefers practising in the evening. Good for you that you were able to muster the discipline to do your routine in the face of yesterday's horrible events - I could not.

And BTW, just to make this clear: I was not posting about revenge. I was referring to the JUSTICE that clearly is to be made here.
