Guest guest
While many yogis are focused on Ahimsa, our roots are also from the warrior class. Read the Gita, Arjuna was not playing a flute! As far as our other posters, threats of escalation or death do not change the events of yesterday.

I am an airline pilot our of Washington-Dulles. We are standing by for new schedules, when we board our aircraft again, either as pilots or passengers, it will be a different aviation world. Use your yoga training and walk the streets or do your job with heightened awareness, not fear. Fear will pass onto your children and co-workers. Be brave, yogis.

Yours in yoga,

Glad you're physically ok - although as you say, your world has changed more than most people's. American airport security was pretty slack by European standards - hopefully not any more.

I grew up in England in the 70s and 80s, where we accepted that occasional terrorist attacks were part of life. I was evacuated from Manchester during two bomb attacks - in one two of my colleagues were slightly injured, in the second my ex-wife actually saw the explosion. But something on this scale is somehow far more shocking than those experiences.

As you say, Arjuna was not a flute-player. And as Desikachar says in Heart of Yoga, ahimsa does not rule out self-defence.
