Guest guest
No downtown trains were running from Grand Central. I was told that unless I was an emergency worker I could be arrested for going below 14th Street...I also tried taking a cab. The driver told me he could only take me to 14th Street ....and again I was told... that unless I was an emergency worker I would be arrested if I went below 14th. Guest guest
At the 431-3738 number this morning they told me that classes were going forward at PYS as per the phone announcement yesterday; and to call back later for information about where and when classes will be tomorrow; they will handle this on a "day by day" basis. Apparently a number of people are getting down there despite the closing.
Guest guest
I got through. I took the Q train and got off at eight st. and went to the roadblock on Lafayette street and Houston. You must produce I.D.
Guest guest
I wish I would have gotten through. Do you have I.D. with a lower NYC address? I live midtown.

Guest guest
No, I live in brooklyn and my drivers license reflects that. I just told the officer where I was going and he let me on through. There were only a small amount of people going through on Lafayette, so maybe that was it. The police on Broadway were turning backs lots of people, who were getting very frustrated. Practice with Guruji was great as usual- its great to have him teaching at our school, albeit under such heinous circumstances. I haven't been in the city since sunday and it was very difficult being there to do something "fun" when all this is going on. I actually wasn't sure if I would attend the rest of the workshop, and I'm still uncertain. I had trouble breathing in the city, and I think its more from anxiety than the large amount of smoke in the air. I still can't believe any of this is happening. Guest guest
The 14th street barriers were down today. So I made it to the Puck Bldg. Practice was good...full of love, not fear.

Because my practice has been interupted by this, I feel more in the moment....not knowing if we will continue to practice for the rest of the month. Not knowing if I will live another day. Before, when I practiced I would work towards getting through the first series in hope of doing the second series someday. Today, I felt like I have this present moment of practice.

As far as "fun when all this is going on" it doesn't feel that way to me....
I'm mentally and physically training to be strong so that this "terror" doesn't ware me down.
