Guest guest
Here's a bit more news about the workshop:

Last week classes were to be held on Monday thru Wednesday in a much different location, a gym at Chelsea Piers on the west side (the other end of town from the Puck Building). The gym turned out to be sort of a mega-gym, a huge place, and class went forward (Monday and Tuesday)on what looked like an indoor tennis court. (Had to chuckle about Guruji teaching in a gym!) The class was bigger because there was only one session per day.
Wednesday class was cancelled because lower Manhattan was basically all closed because of the World Trade Center attack. On Thursday, I am told that classes were held at Patanjali, and that Guruji led four separate sessions to accommodate all the students in the smaller venue. Friday the intrepid band of roving nomadic yogis finally returned to the Puck Building, seventh floor - definitely my fav of all the places, with wonderful space, natural sunlight, and acoustics. (Saturday Guruji led a "makeup" class -- possible yoga criminal?) Throughout all this the energy of all classes remained amazingly high - Guruji appears entirely unfazed by the disaster which has occurred literally around us.

This week, the third of four, the schedule is different; the 6:00 A.M. class is still full primary series, but the 8:00, which had been "half primary", is now intermediate. Not that many people are doing intermediate; I didn't try to count but I guess it's about 50 or so. And the 6:00 primary class is much bigger now, since it includes presumably everybody who (like myself) would otherwise have done the "half-primary", plus everybody who was already doing full primary and didn't want to change to the intermediate class.

In case no one has noted this, the classes are all "led" (not Mysore-style).
Since it has been going on for three weeks now, I find myself sometimes feeling as if it will last forever. I know that I am getting deeper into just about every posture, and my state of mind the rest of the time is noticeably improved (or am I just tired from getting up so early?). Sometimes I think about what FBL once said about fixing the frame of a car that had been wrecked - I have been getting minor seeming "injuries" regularly, only to see them disappear in a day or so, as my body (hopefully) adjusts.

Hope this will whet somewhat your appetite for "news".
