I'll add some more contact information for you on

Sweden ... I'v been waiting for a chance to advertise

for the Swedish ashtanga scene in Stockholm which is

fairly lively and very nice.

Gittan has a

homepage in Swedish. The address is
http://www.ashtangayoga.org
In case you don't read Swedish,

please send an email

to her. The address is:
gittan.hendele

Gittan has been practicing for about 10

years I think,

possibly more, and also teaching for a long time. She

teaches traditional-style ashtanga and basically all her

advanced level drop-in classes are mysore style. She has

drop-in classes five times a week and also arranges a

number of weekend workshops each year as well as a

summer retreat of one or two weeks (this is where Lino

has taught in the past).

Maria Boox has a

studio named Yogashala Sodermalm, together with Lotta

Jacobsson.
telephone: 08-55 60 33 53,
fax: 08-55 60

33 54
email: yogashala
webpage:

www.ashtangayogashala.nu (in Swedish as well)

This studio offers

other kinds of yoga as well, Maria Boox also does

Iyengar yoga. Yogashala Sodermalm usually has mysore

practice monday, wednesday, friday and sunday morning (I

don't know their schedule this year though). Also a

very nice place to practice with very friendly and

good teachers.

Oh, yeah, both these shalas are

located in Stockholm. The only ashtanga teacher I know of

outside of Stockholm lives in Orebro ... I don't have her

information but you can email Gittan, if you want it. Neither

Malmo nor Gothenburg has any established ashtanga

teachers, but if you are in Malmo, the very nice ashtanga

school in Copenhagen is within reach. It's address is
www.astangayoga.dk

Good luck,
Annika

Annika - the link to Maria Boox' website,

http://www.ashtangayogashala.nu is very cool!! Certainly one of

the most unusual

sites of its kind I've seen so far. I hope that TLSlade

will add it to his gigantic list of yoga

links.

More information on Maria Boox can be found in the

'Hinduism Today' article on Rolf Naujokat's classes in Goa,

http://www.hinduismtoday.com/2001/1/#gen456 . Rolf Naujokat is

our national astanga hero, you

know - although he never comes to Germany.
