Guest guest Posted October 31, 2001 Report Share Posted October 31, 2001 Pardon my off-topic post...<br><br>A few weeks ago someone asked about Astanga on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, which for some reason is neglected, despite there being at least three top-notch studios within 10 minutes of the Des Moines Cafe on 4th and A (in downtown).<br><br>I've now been to two classes from the so-called "Abhyasa Yoga" school run in the Broadway Presbyterian Church at 114th St. It's *not* astanga - I guess it's more along the lines of the strenuous free-form practice taught at Jivamukti - but both Carole and Lee are great, and I've really enjoyed the classes. I've only practiced Astanga up until now (for 2.5 years), and although this style doesn't have the same discipline, I'm very happy to have found it.<br><br>Check out the link on my previous post (the one this is a reply to) for more information.<br><br> Namaste<br> DAn.
