Guest guest
Elegant, you made a suggestion a while back to check out Power of Now by Tolle. I'm getting a lot out of it. Thanks.

Regardless of my post in which I expressed apprehensions about Buddhist philosophy, I'm glad to have done fruitfull investigation. I see my previous fears of diffussing my sadhana as fear of new ways of looking at the big picture of practice as spiritual evolution. Guest guest
Galaxy, I think you have me confused with someone else, I've never heard of that book. But if you recommend it I might check it out. I might have recommended a different book. I'm glad your investigation has been enlightening. Guest guest
Perhaps you reccomended "I Am That". I have yet to read that. Someone mentioned that Tolle's book has a lot of similarity to Advaita vendantism yet without any use of the concepts from formal study. His "discovery" was from a deep experience in which he collapsed into an indivisible state (doing my best here). His is not so much a memoir stating he has little use for the past, as a dialogue of sorts, synthetic and real. I've found it very helpfull in maintaining that so oft used word "presence". A definite extension of practice on the mat to off the mat and vice versa.
Guest guest
Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta were certainly not incompatible for the Indian yogi, Padmasampava who fused them with the Bon religion to form what we know today as Tibetan Buddism. Guest guest
Tiber, can you recommend any books or online resources about Padmasampava? I've come across references to him here and there but nothing of any great depth. I've never heard of him being associated with Advaita Vedanta. Thanks.
