Guest guest
Godfrey actually has 4 books on yoga so far. Elements of Yoga, Dynamic Yoga, 15-Minute Yoga, and Hatha Yoga - Breath by Breath. In my opinion Dynamic Yoga is a very good book for anyone really studying Ashtanga Yoga. All of his books are good. Confounding? Maybe, sometimes. Stultifying? I had to look that one up, doesn't seem like a very nice word. The 15-Minute Yoga book has lots of clearly presented practical advice for all students of hatha yoga. He also has a video called Dynamic Yoga, which is good for anyone trying to work their way towards being able to do primary series. He has more videos on the way, according to his website:
http://www.windfireyoga.com
Also, he is working on another website where he translates Patanjali's yoga sutras:
http://www.yogadarshana.com
I like Godfrey alot and consider him to be one heavy duty yogi (even though he is not an "Ashtanga purist"). My favorite posts of his to this forum are these: #537, #538, #539, #536.

Good to see some interesting discussion here recently. I've been lazy about posting, but I always read the forum, even when its almost unbearable. How can things be less crazy here? More participation, more discussion, don't be afraid to post, ask questions, make comments. The more traffic there is, the more the madness can be drowned out (maybe). I just wish he spent as much time with his editor as he does with his photographer and graphic designer.

Here's a quote from Dynamic Yoga. Shrunk and White devotees, BEWARE!

(from Dynamic Yoga by Godfrey Devereux)

"Yoga is an ocean fed by many rivers, each one fed by
many, many streams. The ocean is the ocean, and once
there the traces of the rivers that lead to it
dissolve. The rivers that lead to the ocean of yoga
differ in their course, but share their destination.
It is only when still in the flow of the river that
these differences have any significance. Each of these
rivers is fed by many streams and rivulets." - Page 4.

Ouch!

Cheers,
DMCG

PS there is a new forum at EZ board where people can post reviews of books and videos. Guest guest
Well I didn't think that was too bad. In post 7826, I included an interesting quote from Dynamic Yoga. Quite cryptic.
