Guest guest
Here is a discussion on this subject at EZBoard:
http://pub42.ezboard.com/fyoga84291frm3.showMessage?topicID=118.topic\
Also, the Ashtanga path would be to practice the whole series in correct sequence, and by doing so, this would be addressed. If some parts need more attention, then if you are practicing with awareness, you will discover which postures you may want to hold a little longer. Others may have some more specific advice. Baddha konasana and just plain squatting seem to be good hip openers. (something I need a lot of work on myself)
Guest guest
squatting is good. most westerners have tighter hips partly b/c of our use of the toilet seat. not the most natural way to go about our business. if you notice, indians who are squatters don't have this problem. so don't feel bad. all of us in the western world are dealing with this problem.
