Guest guest
Way out here in Oregon the drama of what is going down at Jivamukti passes over my head. There no certified teachers to study with in my town so, along with others, I get up and practice without guidance. Woe is me... except ... my practice is coming along nicely. Same for the folks who I practice with. We all get something out of a daily practice that can only begat from the action of practice.

When I went to India to study with Guruji there were lots of senior students there as well. They praticed just as intently as I did, sweating it out on the mat every day right next to me and countless others. Their experience was just as valid as mine and I got a lot out of being with them. In the end I came down to me and my commitment to the practice. Their yoga has no dirrect effect on me at all!

My point is that regular practice has done more for me than who I studied with. I would like to study with a cerified teacher and have appreciated all the advice and adjustments I have recieved. But I can not have my own experience if I allow shadows of others to creep into mind.

If your practice is fueled and dirrected by and at someone you resent... or someone you love and adore then so be it. I applaud you for still sweating it out on the mat every day. That is really what counts.

CASEY PALMER in Portland, Oregon
