Guest guest
YogaNidra,

You are a liar.

The fact that you hide behind a pseudonym indicates that you are not just a liar but a coward of the most craven variety.

When I was living in NYC and studying with Eddie I frequently checked out other schools of yoga – Jivamukti, Integral, Dharma Mitra’s classes, Iyengar, a workshop or two here and there, a Richard Freeman talk, Kundalini Yoga, etc… and had talks with Eddie on my experiences there. I can assure you he didn’t feel threatened, and he had no need to. I was exploring the yoga world in NYC and gathering experience, and I got it out of my system fairly quickly because my experiences elsewhere paled in comparison to the instruction I got with Eddie and the other fine people at his shalla.

But Eddie doesn’t need anyone to defend him. He reached his position in the Astanga world through hard work, discipline, fairness, honesty, a great sense of humor and respect for Guruji. All qualities you lack, which is why you snipe at him from the darkness of your little cave in cyberspace.

Get a life.

Cheers,
DMCG

PS. Apologies in advance to listers for my harsh tone, but I just can’t abide liars.
Guest guest
We've already been told that Eddie Stern does require a financial committment for long term study at his shala.

Practically speaking, that means that those who study at Eddie's shala are committed to almost exclusive practice there -- unless they can afford to pay for practice at 2 or more different shalas, and unless they have the energy to do 2 different yoga practices a day.

This means that a teacher at JivaMoo is practially obligated to choose EITHER practicing at JivaMoo, in their hybrid system, OR practicing at Eddie Sterns for their traditional system.

This means that the management of JivaMoo realizes that those JivaMoo teachers who are choosing to practice a Eddies are making a statement that:

1) They do not personally endorse the practice at JivaMoo.

2) They don't practice the hybrid system of astanga at JivaMoo.

I'm sure this is how the management at JivaMoo see things, and their POV is understandable.

McGuirre, grow up a bit. Don't flame and use fighting words on the internet, on of all places a yoga club. Show some class.
Guest guest
Maybe someone can suggest to Christopher that he teach some led classes at Shiva Shala. I think he and Duncan are friends. Duncan's led class was great the other night, but he has a pretty full class schedule, with his mysore and yogic arts classes. Maybe he could share the week with Christopher, giving those of us who love Christopher a chance to continue practicing with him. Just a thought.
