Guest guest
the open class teachers that have been at jyc since its inception that left- all female, some of them sharon's oldest yogi friends. people (like ruth) need a job, ...she can practice at home (what? kpj's series?!). kristin, there at dawn for 10 years? thank you for your beautiful service. older teachers still there, take heed, your tt students will have your jobs soon.
imagine this scenario- a teacher of modern dance at twyla tharp, works 4 1/2 hours a week for her. twyla maintains that a daily practice is essential, the teacher takes a morning class at the joffrey, she is let go. a committment to attend other tharp classes is good for the school, is it necessary to keep them from toning their own skills in a daily rudimentary practice like ballet...get the picture? the fact that the women who have stood by sharon since it was a grassroots shala are now the losers in a male run astanga practice, ugh. where are the good co-ed vibes of people like maty & chuck?
there's more to this story...
