Hi :o)

Iam so glad your first experence with yoga was so positive! A great

web site for you to look at is www.yogajournal.com, it is filled with

a lot of great articles and has a section aimed at people just

starting with yoga like yourself!

May your yogic journey be filled with many blessings and teachings

Thanks. I will definitely check out that site.

One question: someone e-mailed me and mentioned a yogi that has

been "blessed" by someone to teach ashtanga yoga. I'm a little

confused by this. I understand that yoga is a practice that affects

other aspects of your life (much like the martial arts), but how is

it related to "blessings" and religion?

Can someone shed some light on this for me? Thanks!

Blessed simply means that Jois has given premission for an

individuial to teach ashtanga yoga up to a certin point in the system

(navasana or boat pose) this is not really a religious thing simply a

term coind to mean that Jois has approved of someone to teach his

teachings. Remember dont discredit a teacher simply because he or she

is not "blessed" or approved by Jois -- listen to your own judgement

when attempting to find a teacher:O) hope this has been helpful
