Guest guest
Yeah, I also meant to say that outwith practice just sitting on the floor in cross-leg/lotus is meant to be good for opening the hips. The main reason we in the west are so inflexible in the hips, so I heard, is the dreaded chair! Cheers, Scott backbayyoga [no_reply] 17 May 2002 14:42 ashtanga yoga ashtanga yoga Re: knee injury Hi! I urge you to be very careful with your knees and do NOT force them into any lotus posotion if your hips are very tight. The most common injury is from this. I would also suggest working on some hip opening poses besides primary series outside of your practice. Some good ones are splits and frog pose. I too have tight hips and sensitive knees so I am on the same journey. Namaste!
