Guest guest
We are small group of women mostly single mothers or university students.Till sometime back we were attending classes run by Mrs. Shubhada (Indian Yoga teacher) who has vast experience in Asanas as well as pranayama. When out respective courses were complete we tried to continue our yoga practices and learn more via email/net. I am aware of the fact that you can get quite a few photos and description of asanas on net but what we want is one person performing a certain asana and snaps from all angels. When one asana is complete she will move to next pose. This gives new student complete understanding of the posture. Naturally enough we offered good bit of money for such single model on condition that she will provide one asana photos of our choice on test basis. This triggered such a massive response that we had to stop the search. As most of the postures were incorrect. So this time we thought we would request for help to different yoga groups
Guest guest
I can't help you with the model thing, but in the meanwhile you might want to check out Sivasakti on http://sivasakti.com/articles/intro- asanas.html, which has some extremely nice deal such as you're seeking, and Yoga Dancer Designs http://www.YogaDancer.com/Asanas.html, which is working towards what you're seeking. There's also that brand new Iyengar book which offers gorgeous shots from every angle you can think of for many, many asanas. Something else to consider is that different traditions do different asanas differently. (How many times can YOU use the word "different" in one sentence!?) So what you received might not have been wrong, per sé, but not the style your teacher has taught you. This would be something to consider as you seek a model. You might find those sources I've suggested to be exactly what you have in mind, so you don't need to reinvent the wheel. OTOH, if it's not, I do hope you find someone to work with you! Good luck! ashtangayoga, "helen_labs" <helen_labs> wrote: > ... what we want is one person performing a certain asana and snaps > from all angels. > When one asana is complete she will move to next pose.
