Guest guest
Suzy, PRACTICE! Ashtanga changed my life for the better and I have never felt so good. I struggle with poses and I struggle with aching bones and muscles (not that I want to admit that age has anything to do with that!) but I get up every morning at 5am and get myself to class. I never regret the loss of sleep. I feel different, I look at life differently and I "don't sweat the small stuff" anymore. I have made some great friends, some that have gone and some have stayed, but everyone has left me with something and I am grateful. If the entire world did Ashtanga, what a wonderful place it would be. Guest guest
margee, thank you so much for the inspiration, i want so much to be in a place like what your experiencing. i guess the mentality is to get up and practice, not to sit there and think about reasons to not practice (i'm too tired, i'm sleepy, my knee is bothering me) i want so much to consistently practice at least 5 times a week, without something coming up. when i was practicing 5 times a week i was feeling great and loving it. i want to get there again. i am positive that i will, soon. PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE! thanks, suzy >Suzy, >PRACTICE! Ashtanga changed my life for the better and I have never felt so >good. Guest guest
As my teacher always reminds me each day, it is about the practice, not the attachment of it or the expectations of it. I find myself so many times wanting to practice more, do better, do more positions and the more I want the less I obtain. So, now I go to my mat and I thank Jesus Christ for giving me the ability to be on that mat and to do the best I can. The rest of I let go of. It has been a lesson that has not come easy, yet one that I need to learn. and, yes, it is mind over matter somes times in reference to getting up. Let's see how eager I am in the mid-winter when it is 30 degrees and the yoga studio is freezing! Have a great day.
