Hi, Punnit,

Here in Brasil I usually have coconut water after practicing and/or working

out or running. It seems healthier to me than that unnatural canned/bottled

stuff. Besides it, I'm out of everything that has any chemical ingredients.

ashtanga yoga what to drink?

Hello

My concern is that water is not the best drink to have

after an ashtanga practice. Ive been told that the

body loses a lot of nutrients whilst parcticing,

through sweating mainly, and there are more efficient

drinks to rehydrate the body and refuel.

Im not sure which ones though. There are a lot of

energy drinks on the market. In the UK there are

things like Lucozade and then there are those drinks

which are for athletes, sportspeople and

weightlifters. Some are protein drinks and others are

more energy drinks consisting of mainly dextrose I

think.

There are others that I dont know about, but which

ones are o.k and consistent with ashtanga yoga? Are

any of them, or should one be drinking more natural

things like fruit and vegetable juices to do the job

along with water?

Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly

appreciated.

Thank you

Punnit
