Guest guest
i also find that i am sleepy throughout the day (sitting in front of a computer) and sluggish before going to practice, but once i start i'm full of energy and feel great. i would also like to get rid of the sluggish feeling that i feel throughout the day (especially on my 4th or 5th day of practice in row). my knees also start to bother me on my 4th or 5th day of practice. is it because i need to build up my endurance somehow? Guest guest
I have the same problem; I'm tired and rather unmotivated before I practise, but, usually, once I get into the asanas I feel entirely better. Sometimes I'll show people at work different poses [if we're bored] and afterward I'm slightly energized. Perhaps you could do one or two during the day when you're feeling sluggish to help? For your knees... it could be endurance, but it could also be something about how your built. If it persists, I'd see a doctor about it just to rule anything medical out ) Namaste, Joie~ - "Suzy Rivera" <suzy ashtanga yoga Tuesday, July 23, 2002 11:56 AM Re: ashtanga yoga Sleep and Ashtanga : i also find that i am sleepy throughout the day (sitting in front of : a computer) and sluggish before going to practice, but once i start : i'm full of energy and feel great. i would also like to get rid of : the sluggish feeling that i feel throughout the day (especially on my : 4th or 5th day of practice in row). my knees also start to bother me : on my 4th or 5th day of practice. is it because i need to build up my : endurance somehow? Guest guest
traditionally, people are more tired in the evening, that is why it is encouraged to practice in the morning. you have much more energy and better concentration. obviously, it is harder to practice in the AM for most people, but you will notice the difference. I used to practice at night and now I practice in the AM. I find that I have a lot more energy during the day from my morning practice and my energy is balanced. If you can try to do some morning practices, i would encourage you thoroughly. I am not a morning person, so I know how hard it is. ;-) ashtangayoga, Suzy Rivera <suzy@t...> wrote: > i usually practice in the p.m. after work (6:00pm). why? > > > > >do you practice in the AM or PM?
