Does anyone think that Jois has to be your guru if you practice the ashtanga series..... and not simply practice it for the physical gains but also the spirtual. If you do think so then what about the other people who learned ashtanga from the big K man? like BNS Iyngar who is also in mysore. Why dont you "hard core" ashtanga types listen to him? If length of time and dedecation to the practice is your requirement for giving the title "guru" then after Jois dies who will be the new king of ashtanga? anyone have any insites on my thoughts? It seems to me that Jois gets soo much credit with ashtanga cuz he was the first to have westeren students who spred the message of ashtanga vinyasa.
