on travel, where to stay and much general useful info on the Mysore scene.

Here's a link to Richard Freeman's site which has the Sanskrit terms of the

Chant for before a practice, the English translation and an mp3 file of the

chant that will help you understand the correct pronunciation of some of the

terms. http://www.yogaworkshop.com/philosophy_chant_phil_vande.htm

Here's a link to Carl Nelson's great ashtanga site. Carl has a background in

music, and, in addition to displaying the words, he includes information on how

to correctly intone the different words. He also gives the words to a finishing

chant and an insightful discussion of Eastern chanting and musicology.

Suzie says, ‘Alex Chiu is some kind of inventor, and he's come up with a device

using magnets which he claims to make people younger or even give them eternal

life! And he even gives you the full instructions for building them yourself,

so I'm going to give it a try and see if it works... What do you think about

this, I don't really understand how it could work but there are a lot of true

stories on his web-site

which sound real and it does seem scientific somehow. You can have a

look yourself by visiting the link:

I am starting a small business to provide home delivered organic produce to

people in the Boston area. It is called Boston Organics. If you are interested,

please visit my

website for more information www.bostonorganics.com Or contact

me, jeff

I started eating organic produce on a regular basis about a year after I began

practicing yoga. I don't know if it was because the produce was organic, or if

it was because of an increased produce consumption, but I definitely noticed

that my practice got "deeper".

I have recently relocated to the Boston area and am looking for ashtanga

studios. If anyone knows of any studios both in the Boston area and North of

Boston, please let me know. Thanks, Jeff jeff

AND FINALLY:

Josh from New South Wales sent this, but asked us not to give his email address.

Read on and then you might see why he’s feeling shy:

There was a revered Ashtanga yogi who chose to live a rugged and ascetic life.

He often went barefoot and as a result, developed calloused feet. He ate a

spare vegetarian diet which included many beans, and as a result developed bad

breath. He also went on fasts which made him rather weak.

He was a “super-calloused fragile mystic with extra halitosis.”

Ouch. Thanks Josh, and don’t give up the day job!

(If anyone has any better jokes, please send them to annie )

THAT’s ALL FOLKS – Thanks to all those who have emailed saying how much they

enjoy this service. If you have something you would like to be included in

the next Purple Valley Newsletter, want to re-establish contact with another

yoga student or have a web-site you'd recommend or a general query you’d like

answered, please send it by email to annie or via the Purple Valley

website now at www.yogagoa.net There is no charge. OmShanti.
