Guest guest
thanks for that business2.com link. very interesting. after reading that i think guruji's policy on muslims seems tame in comparison. if he'd had the inclination or desire guruji could have cashed in big time, living in beverly hills w/ all those roll royces. the fact that he didn't says something. anyway i have a few questions: the article said that teachers at jivamukti and other big studios were making $25/class + $2.50 for each student after 10 students. is that true? i'm sorry but that doesn't sound bad to me. especially at a large center like jivamukti where you can have AT LEAST 20 students/class. is that why all those teachers walked out -- b/c they wanted more. also is any of that true about rodney yee and the affairs? maybe i shouldn't care but it does make him lose credibility. finally, many of these big time teachers are genuinely good teachers and can teach a lot about asana. but most of them are NOT GREAT!!! yogis in the real sense of that word -- not like ramana maharshi, paramhansa yogananda, ammachi....when is the last time you heard of these folks practicing their downward dog. they didn't need it. I love asana but i'm starting to think that the REAL spiritual teachers are not the ASANA teachers.... ashtangayoga, shambhala_us <no_reply> wrote: > Here is the link to the article entitled "Yogis Behaving Badly" from > this month's issue of Business 2.0: > > http://www.business2.com/articles/mag/0,1640,42783,00.html
Guest guest
Interestign article. I believe bikram method of heating the room is not very healthy in the long run. Body heat should be raised with diets etc Also i notice in US people confusing about styles of yoga as different. All yoga is ashtanga, Pradeep - -- In ashtangayoga, shambhala_us <no_reply> wrote: > Here is the link to the article entitled "Yogis Behaving Badly" from > this month's issue of Business 2.0: > > http://www.business2.com/articles/mag/0,1640,42783,00.html

I > love asana but i'm starting to think that the REAL spiritual teachers > Asana is just the one limb of ashtanga. It helps you in other stages by making ones body healthy. For spiritual progress a guru, proper circumstances, past accumulated karma, tapas, lot of things are required. ramana maharshi, i heard, his energy was most of the time in sahasrara so his body wasted. Amma is an example of a highly active anahata chakra. I find it sometimes funny that ashtanga is considered a style of yoga. All the eight limbs are required for yogic progress and even in classes where they teach just asanas, unconsciously they are touching the other limbs of yoga.
