** A fellow MA. Excellent.

I do Ashtanga Yoga 7 days a week. As I explain to my students, by

doing the practice daily, communcation between the body & mind

becomes clearer.

Ashtanga Yoga is not like other forms of Hatha Yoga or exercise, so

it can be done every day. Done properly, with balance &

mindfullness, over-training does not occur.

Otherwise, your schedule looks similar to my own. I teach 13 classes

a week (a wide gamet .. from meditation to Ashtanga Yoga). I

meditate daily, & practice JKD 2 days a week at the dojo, one day on

my own. I run (5 miles), & do weight-training & physical

conditioning three times a week.

[[.. sometimes I feel really tired,]]

** Good to hear you respect the 'tired' feeling. From your post,

your obviously an athlete, so realize the importance of this. To me,

its a matter of degrees. Sometimes I run fast, sometimes I run

slow. Sometimes my Ashtanga is dynamic, sometimes it is more

relaxed. I listen to what my body wants to do, not what I think I

need to do. ;)

Om Shanti ...

How do you incorporate the running and ashtanga. I found that when I ran I

couldn't get enough flexibility in my hips or knees to do any of the binding

poses and twists. I have only been practicing seriously for 18 months. I

loved to run and for me it was a great way to keep my weight under control.

Now, I struggle with the weight, but my practice is coming along nicely. If

you have any suggestions on how I could do both please post them ASAP!

Yes this is a very often over-looked point. I listen to my body, and some

times it gives me hints that I need a rest, even though I really want to do

something. I just have to listen.
