Baron Baptiste is in the UK at the moment and I went to one of his

workshops on Saturday.

It was interesting to see how he varies ashtanga to create

his 'power' yoga, and it was a good workout - he's a good showman

and not too 'celebrity' !

But best of all, I now know what Margee means by the impact

that 'holding' the poses in sun salutation creates. Not only did he

get us to hold the up dog for several breaths, I found a 'new pose'

which is 'high chaturanga' - basically the high position of a push

up. He had us hold that for several breaths too.

So for me, trying to build shoulder strength, it was excellent.

He also gave away t-shirts at the end, instead of trying to charge

for them, which I thought was commendable.
